Loading DICOM Images from Folder

In order to visualize a study and the images in it, the corresponding files in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) format must be opened in the software. This can be done in 3 different ways:

  1. Open a study from the folder with the button (1)
  2. Open a study from a folder using the keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + O
  3. Open a study by drag-and-drop of the folder in the series panel (16)

If the user tries to load an empty folder or folder in which there are no images in DICOM format, a message is displayed on the screen that no DICOM files have been found in the folder:

The software allows visualization of only one study at a time. In case the user tries to load several studies at once, they are put in a queue, ordered by the date the images were taken (descending, from newest to oldest) and analyzed in the same order. The maximal number of studies in the queue is 150.

Closing of the current study is done by clicking the Close study button or with the shortcut keyboard combination ctrl + w. If more than one study has been loaded, after closing the current in CoLumbo, the next one in the queue is visualized and 1 position is released in it.
