CoLumbo and Nuance Collaborate to Advance AI-Powered Medical Imaging

Smart Soft Healthcare JSC, developer of CoLumbo, an AI-powered solution for lumbar spine MRI analysis, is pleased to announce a collaboration with Nuance, a Microsoft company and a provider of AI-powered healthcare and medical imaging solutions.

The collaboration will integrate CoLumbo with the Nuance Precision Imaging Network (PIN), combining CoLumbo’s specialized AI capabilities with Nuance’s extensive medical imaging infrastructure to support advances in diagnostic imaging and radiology workflows across the United States.

Microsoft and Nuance’s expertise in delivering clinical intelligence across the radiology workflow, combined with Smart Soft Healthcare’s CoLumbo AI Spine Assistant, will enable more healthcare organizations to access AI-powered spine MRI analysis, supporting faster reporting, reduced waiting times, and more standardized radiology workflows.

The Nuance Precision Imaging Network (PIN) provides healthcare organizations with a single point of access to a curated collection of third-party AI models that deliver imaging insights directly within the radiology workflow.

By combining PowerScribe, a workflow and reporting solution used by 80% of U.S. radiologists, with PowerShare, its image-sharing infrastructure, and the scale, security, and capabilities of Microsoft Azure, PIN enables healthcare organizations to integrate AI into existing clinical workflows. More than 15,000 healthcare facilities connected to PowerShare Image Sharing already have PIN infrastructure components in place, allowing AI solutions to be accessed with minimal additional setup.
